Dvorak Symphony no. 5 E Minor, Op.95 (New World)

This series of watercolors, a series of musically titled and inspired pieces, were painted in response to my observation that I love music and art too much to keep them at separate levels of importance in my life. I wanted to use both and explore the spontaneity and movement of music on the page.
The process starts with choosing a Classical piece, listening to it, finding one or two colors that fit and a pattern that flows with the music. Then I transfer the text of the music from the original scores in graphite.
I am happy with how they turned out, but I am planning on larger formats using oils and the figure.
